A carton for every order
An ecommerce desk repeats the same few carton sizes. The carton should match the goods, close quickly, and fit the service you post on. A different size for every order is slower than a short list of sizes you already know.
Crash lock cartons open into shape and include a peel-and-seal strip. The category lists six sizes and describes the board as 150K/T, recyclable and biodegradable, and sized for Royal Mail small parcels. Amazon cartons are a separate list, made to the FBA and Amazon Shipping maximums published on that category.
Postal cartons and fulfilment cartons
A Royal Mail small parcel, on our changes page, is at most 450 mm long, 350 mm wide and 160 mm deep, measured on the outside. Crash lock sizes are the ones that category lists against those rules. White postal cartons and the Royal Mail small parcel range are the plain alternatives when you do not want a crash lock base.
Amazon FBA maximums we list run from a standard envelope of 33 x 23 x 2.5 cm up to a standard oversize of 120 x 60 x 60 cm. Amazon Shipping maximums are a different list, including a small parcel of 45 x 35 x 16 cm. Use the list that matches how the order is fulfilled.
What else the desk needs
The carton is the outer wall. Tape closes it, unless the crash lock peel-and-seal strip is doing that seam. Void fill stops the goods moving. A poly mailer replaces the carton when the goods are soft. Those are separate categories, and they can go on the same order.
PayPal branded cartons, in the PP sizes, are another outer pack when the order should carry that brand. They are not a substitute for an Amazon size.
Ordering
Pick the carton family first: crash lock, Amazon, or a plain postal carton. Then pick the size and the pack quantity. Orders placed by 3pm are dispatched the same day. UK delivery is free on orders over £50 ex VAT. TradePro, for trade businesses, starts at 5% off and goes up to 10% when you spend over £1,000 a month.
